ROSE BEDNARZ LUGIO - Counselor
Rose Bednarz Lugio is a professor in the Business Department at Gateway Community College and directs the Gateway Small Business Center.
She is program coordinator for the degree programs in Entrepreneurial Studies and Retail Management/Fashion Merchandising. Rose teaches marketing,
fashion, retailing, textiles, e business, small business management and entrepreneurship courses.
JULIE BRANDER – Co Chairperson
Julie Brander has 20 years experience in starting and owning her own manufacturing, wholesale, retail, mail order and non profit business.
She has her MBA in Entrepreneurship and teaches business courses at Gateway Community College. She is a licensed Realtor in the State of CT
and specializes in Commercial Real estate sales and leasing.
EILEEN CAVANAUGH - Counselor
Eileen Cavanaugh began her banking career in the early 70's. Vice President of The Milford Bank since 1987 and is VP of Mortgages and Consumer
Loans with experience in commercial lending as well. SCORE Counselor since 1992.
Active in civic and community charity work for over 25 years. Serves on several non-profit boards, past chair of Milford Chamber of Commerce, Board
of Directors, past chair of Network of Executive Women, past chair of Domestic Violence Services of Greater New Haven (still Board member) former
Board member of VNA, Red Cross (Milford Chapter) and Past General Campaign Chair for the Milford United Way.
SALLY ANN ENDLEMAN – Counselor
Sally Ann Endleman brings her 40 years of business experience - twenty-five years as owner of Endleman Gallery a contemporary jewelry gallery
and Endleman Two a women's clothing boutique - and fifteen years as an exhibiting artist participating in juried and invitational shows.
She is a licensed Realtor in Connecticut with Coldwell Banker of Milford and in Naples, Florida with Engel & Voelkers. She is a resident of Woodmont.
ROBERT ESPOSITO - Co Chairperson
Robert Esposito was a Controller and financial advisor responsible for all financial activities of a multi-million dollar manufacturing business
including budgeting, financial analysis, balance sheet and profit and loss statements, cash flow analysis, profit improvement programs, performance
measurement factors, bench marking, internal audits, pricing and sales and marketing forecasts.
RICHARD HART - Treasurer
Richard Hart has been a SCORE Counselor for 3 years. Richard went to Mt. St. Mary’s University and Wharton Graduate School and was a Peace Corps
Volunteer setting up credit unions in Bolivia. Richard’s background is in finance - banking software, leasing, financial services sales and credit
management.

Jack Kurek has worked with clients for over thirty years in business analysis, project management, and product development. Jack seeks out
client needs by the discovery, documentation and quantification of business-related problems, issues and inhibitors. He uses analytical skills,
perception of ideas, industry knowledge, and evaluative techniques to conceptualize solutions and deliver bottom line value to his clients.
Jack’s in-depth industry expertise is in all segments of the retail industry.
GERALD SHENKIN – Deputy Chairman
Gerald Shenkin has forty three (43) years experience as an Industrial Engineer and has been a SCORE Counselor for over 4 years.
Gerald has expertise in facility selection, design and construction of buildings, layouts, time and motion study, facility operation and
maintenance, manufacturing, OSHA, environmental, health and safety issues.
PATRICK THIBADEAU - Secretary
Patrick Thibadeau owned and operated a business to business direct marketing company for 26 years before selling his business. Patrick has experience in all phases of business management, operations and marketing, as well as familiarity with a family owned business. Having started his business from scratch, he is familiar with the pitfalls and growing pains of the small business owner.
DON WALL – Counselor
Don Wall started a Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Company in 1979 specializing in commercial/industrial HVAC design build projects. Over the years the Company grew and prospered in sales and service and was ultimately sold in 2000. Don continued to run the company until 2003 and has since worked as a business consultant.
PETER WEINSTEIN – Counselor
Peter Weinstein was a CPA in Connecticut for 47 years before retiring in 2006. Peter was the partner in charge of the department that specialized in business startups, business sales and liquidations, and family business planning. All of his clients were closely held corporations or partnerships or LLC’s or proprietorships. Since state and federal taxes entered into every transaction, Peter was responsible for minimizing their effect.
SUSAN SLOIN – Counselor
Susan Sloin began a home based business selling Invitations for all occasions as well as Personalized Stationery. She then opened a retail store called "the Back Door, a gift and paper boutique, specializing in unique trendy and quality gifts. She was in the stationery business for 35 and then sold it. At the same time she was a Merchandiser and Buyer for the Windsor Shop, a large gift and collectable store in North Haven for 12 years. Susan specializes in all aspects of retail merchandising and has helped many businesses with their displays and layouts.
